Philipp Kunze is an experienced project developer and an expert in optimising PV power plant design in order to best meet the requirements of electricity markets and, hence, capture the highest possible project value. He has been active in the Renewable Energy space since 2005 and in the Greek solar market since 2009 where he has established a deep network including project developers, authorities, utilities and the grid operators.
He was the founder and CEO of OneShore Energy GmbH, a start-up focusing on the design and realisation of PV diesel hybrid energy systems, which was established in 2013 and acquired by BayWa r.e. GmbH in 2017. After the successful integration into BayWa r.e. he assumed the parallel roles of Head of Project Development Greece and Global Head of Hybrids. Before that, he worked for NexTracker, Inc. the globally leading tracker manufacturer and Solaria Corporation, a PV module technology company, as a management consultant and banker. Philipp also serves as a member of the Advisory Committee of the International Hybrid Power Systems Workshop series. His main focus is optimizing PV power plant design, both on-grid and off-grid in order to obtain the highest possible share of renewables in the grid, as well as the highest project value.
He studied at London School of Economics in London and ESADE in Barcelona and holds a M.Sc. in Management and speaks German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Greek.
