Katerina Sokou is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Future Europe Initiative of the Atlantic Council and Washington DC correspondent for SKAI TV and Greek daily newspaper Kathimerini, where she is also a columnist. 

Katerina graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Ioannina, Greece, and earned an MA in International Studies from the University of Warwick and an MA in Journalism from Columbia University, where she was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in Economics and Business Journalism. She researched the US role in the

Greek debt crisis as a visiting scholar at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and is a PhD candidate at the University of Piraeus.

She started her career as a financial reporter at To Vima, reporting on the Greek economy and the Euro area, and was International Financial News editor at Kathimerini during the global financial crisis. She covered the Greek debt crisis from Athens and Washington, also providing commentary for international media outlets.
